  Yeah this is a sad reality in California, here in Los Angeles murder is common place. The gangs here are generational so it is embedded in the families.

  Delaying surgery due to blood issue.....

  i am a supervisor at my job.

  one of my reports has asked for medical leave due having cervical cancer.

  she has just informed me she will be delaying her surgery for her cervical cancer due to not finding a doctor who will perform the surgery without blood.. she has a fast spreading cancer.. i really want to help her but i need to be careful.

  Tell her to get the surgery, if she needs blood then take it, her life it looks like depends on it.

  Hey guys,

  Mighty Mike here. Have not been here for some time but have been checking in here and there. Some of you may know that I had come aboard not too long ago to learn about the JW's and their core beliefs and also some deeper stuff.

  I have listened to a lot of you and see so many ex JW's with well a lot to say. I have thought about this, and I know the dangers I guess we can call them of losing family and friends and so on.

  Something came to mind as well. With so many of you out here, and with the knowledge of the organization you all have, would it not be reasonable to say that with a concentrated effort, kinda just like the JW org does, to take what you have and turn it against the organization, use it to well I suppose say shed some real light on the many lives trapped to gett them out?

  I know you may say yeah right or in your dreams, but some food for thought, there seems to be a great potential for such a task. And who better then those who have been there.

  Alcoholism - a disease or a choice?

  alcoholics anonymous claims that alcoholism is a disease.

  somehow i think that is just a way of excusing the person from the responsibility that they chose to drink and they chose to let it become an addiction.. what do you think?.

  Drinking is a choice even if it is because mom or dad did drink. The idea that someone is born with a gene or otherwise that would make one be a drinker is nonsense. A person picks it up, because again mom or dad as we have observed did likewise, or friends who drink offer it and make it appealing, or curiosity. Responsibility for it lies with us, it is funny how AA will seek to have us become responsible for our actions but not for picking up the drink and indulging.
